Is there a way to check the condensers, points, and coils on this motor? It is electric start, but can'tget any fire. I've unplugged the two black wires but that did not help either. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: 1970 35 hp

I have a 1970 35 HP Chrysler and have not needed points/condensers/coils/timing since my 1984 purchase ?VS Cleaning Points? (related to lost performance vs fire. My only loss of fire was when my switch was bad from tarped condensation from lack of use and lubricating. TV tuner spray in the switch solved this (try the spray to clean the switch?s contacts). The indication was I could bypass the switch and it would crank and run. If you know the process, send 12V to the ignition sys on the marked board on the engine?s board from the battery. 12V to the starter solenoid and it should start and run if it?s a switch problem (with it in the water/barrel or muffs vs starting w/o a water supply). I have shared this info before and the best I can find now is searching wickware and in a thread at a link below.
