Hi Gents, I need your help please....I have a 1970 40052a Evinrude big twin. I can't find in my manuals, how to adjust this secondary pickup adjustment. Thanks in advance!

It's in your manual. :)
To adjust the linkage first rotate the armature plate until the arm contacts the stop. Note: Do not move the speed control linkage, rotate the armature plate only. With the arm against the stop, measure the clearance between the movable stop and pivot. If the clearance is not 1/32", loosen the clamp screw and reposition it on the link.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. Are you saying to position the armature plate at its maximum advance stop or minimum advance stop?

Thanks

Many thanks TX. The intake manifold projection was also broken off which led me down the garden path, but all make sense now.....

Thanks again!
