How tough is it for the average mechanic to replace the motor mounts. And find the parts?

When I first bought my 71' 9.5, I had a marine tech look at it. The mounts were good, but he said it was a 6 or 7hr job to replace them as you have to split the whole case. The part should be avalible, through a OMC dealer still.

wind knot is right the case has to be split its not a really easy job but it can be done.most of the parts are still avalable for these great engines. if you have to replace the motor mounts i would change the exhaust donut also because you will be right there and they are known to go bad
