First post here. I used to do a lot of lake sailing with a 14 and 22 footer, now just do a lot of ksyaking ans sailing. I am getting a boat off family, as they are getting a different boat, that i have been researching. The title indicates it is a 1970 17' by duckbuster corporation. Researching this just brings up duck hunting boats. As i stumbled along, i came across pics of DUO boats and this one looks a lot like a DUO sportster. Not sure why title says duckbuster on it. The trailer is a little dude trailer. Is anybody out there able to confirm DUO is duckbuster?
Next, we got the boat about 10 years ago and the inside was stripped as in no carpeting or seats, etc. Since then, we have added carpet, seats, wired it, and have been using the boat. I ran across a flyer of a 1971 sportster and it helped some. I noticed it had side panels and a bilge of some sort and also a colapsable canvas top. I would really like to get some more info or pics on this boat and restore it to how it had looked. Not able to find any parts either, not even on ebay. I can post pics if it helps as well. Would like to make the side panels and find parts to make the canvas top i seen it had from the flyer. There is no data plate in it. Right now it has a 35HP mercury oil injected motor on it because of lake HP restrictions. Looking forward to making this a project even though it is perfectally usable as it is. Thanks in advance.
