1970 evinrude 60 hp fuel pump leak?

noticed a strong odor of gas today around my outboard. pulled the cowl and noticed some fuel around the pump. i dried it off and squeezed the primer bulb and noticed fuel coming out of the hose going into the crankcase. and i also noticed some fuel coming out of what looked like a little weep hole on the back side of the fuel pump. can anybody tell me what would cause this? also if fuel is going into the crankcase what do i need to do about that?

You probably have a ruptured diaphram in the fuel pump, ordie. It sound like you also have a leak in the line that feeds crankcase pulses to the pump.

Overhaul the pump and replace the pulser line.

is the pulser line just a reguar vacum hose?
