the motor loses spark,on one cylinder only, off ,then on ,then off, back on, as it runs.. i changed both coils,still loses spark to one cylinder,, could this be dirty points? the points, looklike they have some build up of crud,, any help, please ,i checked ,,,switched plugs so it isnt the plug woulg the condeser do this???

Hi, Ello.<br /><br />Welcome to iboats. :) <br /><br />Yes, dirty points or a bad condenser could cause your trouble. So could misadjusted points or an intermittent ground in the kill circuit.<br /><br />Clean and gap, or replace, the points. Replace the condenser for that cyl. Thoroughly check the kill circuit for bare or broken wire.<br /><br />If you don't have one, get a Service Manual.<br /><br />Good luck. :)
