~1970 Mercury 7.5hp cooling water exit

Where does the cooling water exit on an about 1970 Mercury 7.5 hp outboard? Some comes out the telltale but does more come out the upper exhaust port or out the prop?

Telltale is weak at idle, but pretty good in gear and motoring along. Water temp of water out telltale is pretty warm, but I can hold my finger in it ok. Not seeing water out upper exhaust port and am wondering if this is normal?

The impeller needs to be changed out !------------Most cooling water goes out the prop.

Thanks racerone. Good to know it's supposed to go out the prop. Impeller was new about 8 years ago, used some one season, and has sat until now. Must be deteriorating with age and not use. Puts out a steady stream at anything above idle. Tends to spurt a little, not quite a steady stream at idle.
