Motor is a 71 Evinrude 50 Lark, model 50173S, and has electric shifting. I just bought the boat so I changed all the lower unit oils before taking it out. I ran the lake for about a hour checkin it out. Well now the oil is milky so I asume I have some bad seals. I know there are two seals right behind the prop, and the drain and fill plugs. Are there any other seals that should be changed as well at the same time? I also plan on changing the impellar. Does someone sell a complete kit to do the job at one shot? Thanks

The water pump has a seal under it. I cannot remember how the shift wires are sealed. iboats.com has kits, but it seems the site is down right now so I can't check.

Best thing to do is have it pressure & vacuum tested. Takes the guess work away.

on the exploded view all I see are a cover gasket for the shift wire cover. There appears to be a oil seal for the drive shaft just below the water pump that seems to press in the top of the bearing housing. and a o ring just below the bearing hosing. I am taking a guess that if you un bolt the housing you can get at the seal and oring fairly easy? I have never done this so I will need all the advice I can get. I would have it vac tested but the only shop near me is 50 miles and they wont even look at it because of the age. So I am on my own.
