1971 Johnny 60hp Tach?

As I was removing the throttle control. I noticed a pair of wires hanging out that had been cut off. I traced them out on the schematic and it is for my tach. Could I just use any tach from an Auto parts store or is there marine(expensive) one I should use? I checked this site and couldn't find one that would work for me, price vs. function.<br /><br />Thx<br />Karrick

You need to use a Marine Tach in order to get the corect readings. Any Tach that has a "6" pole setting will work. They do have them on the Iboats site that wil work. Teleflex, Ect.
