1971 Slickcraft 235ss omc

I don't know too much about this boat, I have always had boats with outboards. I am wondering if the outdrive can be replaced with a newer style. It has a 350v8 for power.any thoughts would be great.

Welcome aboard MAkers:

A 71' OMC won't replace easily with a newer drive. The Stringer passed through the transom, and newer outdrives mount to the transom. The OMC hole is much bigger, so you'd need to rebuild the transom to make it work.
