Hi all,

Im attempting to set up my carbs and have been told to unscrew the idle needle 1.5 turns from lightly seated. How do I know when they are lightly seated as the needle doesn't really give much resistance when i screw it in. I don't wan't to turn it too far incase i damage the seat.

Regards

Stan :)

Stan screw it in till it stops just don't reef on it the friction that yoyu are feeling comes from the friction screw, when it bottoms you will feel it. The other way is as the engine is idleing in gear, start at the top carb and slowly screw the idle screw in till the engine miss fires the back it out till it smooths out, then go down one and repeat the process, and on down to the bottom carb, I do this at least twice to get the idle as smooth as possable---Bob

Just don't try to tighten it like it's holding something. Screw it in till it hits bottom and then back it out 1.5 turns. ( I use 2 turns)

Then do what laddie said to fine tune them.

-W
