Have an old 50 OMC that will not open up (reach high RPMS). Both Carbs have been cleaned. This I know is not the problem. Had it in the shops a few weeks ago because it would not stay running. Mechanic said I had a sheered flyway key, he replaced this got her to crank. Took her on an out of town three day fishing trip (had to idle and troll for three days) and now it won't come up to speed. I called him today to let him know it was still not running and he is saying its probably an ignition problem. This old girl is getting old I don't want to keep pouring money in it anymore than its worth. What in the ignition would be causing this? Any help would be appreciated.
