1972 9.5 slipping out of gear??

So I finally got it apart and the foward gear definitely looked worn. Reverse gear seemed fine so I think I’ll reuse it. my only question is should I replace the drive shaft gear I’m not sure whether to replace it for the sake of replacing it and preventive maintenance or just leaving it so I have some pictures maybe you guys can add some input

Pinion looks OK----But make sure that shift linkages are properly assembled and adjusted.
