1972 evinrude 9.5 hp carb help

Hi, new to the forums and boat engines all together, bought a 1972 evinrude for my john boat for a good price. i put it on my john-boat today,. hooked the gas lines up and went to prime the gas and gas comes out the carb, its missing a tiny screw im not sure what it is. couldn't find it on the diagrams.
Where that small little groove is, there's a hole with threads, i haven't taken it apart it fires if i put a little gas down the carb but if i hook the fuel line to the fuel pump and prime it just comes out that hole instead of going into the carb.

Float or float valve needs attention.----Does spark jump a gap of 1/4"---(7 mm ) or more , yes , no or not sure why that is important ?

So there shouldn't be anything in the hole i have circled, i just took the carb off and the float doesn't look good and is missing the little clip that holds the valve to the float, recommend any sites to get a carb kit off of?
