I have a 1972 evinrude 25 hp I want to convert to electric start. What bracket do I need to get to make it work?

Brackets and starter motors off a 1958 to 1976 will fit.----Wonderful thing about interchange on the 22 cubic inch block.

I have a bracket from a 76 but when I installed it it’s not letting the starter gear reach the flywheel

???---Animazon is not an outboard shop !----The starter off a 57 to 76 will fit.----But it has to be for a 22 cubic inch block !!----Every fits every thing according to some website sellers.---Find the 6 digit casting # on your 76 bracket or post pictures of your 76 bracket and the starter you got from space.

For some reason it won’t let me upload the picture but I got a bracket from eBay that said it fits 1976 to 2006. No starter came with it. The starter has SAE J1171 on the side of it and said it was OMC specs for 1972 - I think it said 78 Johnson/evinrude. It has the 11 teeth Gear on it. When it engages it Misses my Flywheel by about 1 1/2 inches.

I found another one that says 1959 to 1976 but for a 33 hp Johnson/evinrude. Would that one work?

I thought I wrote very clearly here.----1976 to 2006 is NOT THE SAME as 57 to 76 !!---------And the 33 HP is not a 22 cubic inch motor.-----I give up trying to help here.

Wow I understand what you said bud but you don’t have to be like that sir. The only reason I asked about the 33 hp is because I couldn’t find one that said 25 hp in that 57 a 76 year range. But thanks for the information you did provide. It’s appreciated.
