HELP!

I recently ordered new spark plus for my top shape, low hour outboard above as I was not reaching top speed or RPM's while on the lake. I replaced them and still in the same situation. I have tested the plug wires for spark and they all are working properly. When removing each plug wire one by one, the only wire that does not affect the idle is the 2nd cylinder wire. I am lost at what has changed from 3 trips ago when I was crusing fine. The engine runs ok on 3 cylinders but now power. What can I check and/or what could be the cause? I have rebuilt the carbs prior to this as well as replace all the fuel lines, fuel pump, and the power pack. I have a new coil that came with the powerpack, should I try installing it? I have also tried replacing the wire to this cylinder and it did not help... Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!!!

LostBoater in Sacramento

Here is a posibility, check that dead cylinders sparkplug.look for water.I oncewas sure my 140 had an electrical problem.I replaced everything.Turns out it was a headgasket leaking water into one cylinder.also more often than not its a bad ground.some say headgaskets should be replaced yearly.befor you replace parts try moving parts from a good cylider to the bad cylinder, see if this brings that back to life.

advice.....the wise dont need it~ and the foolish wont heed it! goodluck
