1972 johson prop question

hello . i have a 1972 johnson 50 hp on a 15 ft fiberglass caravelle fishing boat. the prop says 13-3/4x15. i need to replace it but am not sure what to get. do i need to stay with the same prop or will another pitched prop be more practical as far as speed and low end power? I guess you can tell i know nothing about pitch and props. thank you for your help...

decrease pitch -2 improve hole shot increase rpms good for towing skier
increase pitch +2 low rpm 300 to 400increase top end speed good on cruising
