1972 Merc.800 part question

I just purchased a 1969 distributor in the hopes I could just change out the collar to match my carb setup.Well I was wrong now in order for this distributor to work I need the top carb cluster part number 52518 and this is NLA. anybody have any Idea's where these still can be purchased??

Gomer,

My son has a 1974 - 85 hp mercury with a distributor and he is "parting out" the engine. I believe it is a 4 cylinder engine and he has removed the carbs already. Can you describe where to find this part number on the top carb cluster? We can take a look at the carbs to see if it would fill your needs.

Thanks for responding but the top carb cluster on a 74 is probably the same as my 1972.On another note the 69 65hp distributor will not work on my 1972 different style collar that wont interchange with my 72.The shaft is too short,that being said, time to look for a different distributor and sell the 1969(actuall stamp on it say's May 22,1967) distributor.Thanks again.Shoot me an email if you are selling the distributor. prendergaststeve@gmail.com[/email]
