After dealing with a rough idle/missfire, I think I've finally tracked the problem to the ballast resistor(s). There are 2 of them back to back, but from what I have gathered they act as a single unit. I checked them with my multimeter, one has absolutely no resistance and the other is open. My question is, can I possibly replace them with a resistor from say..an old car...if the resistance values match up with what the book says they should be (1.2-1.4ohms)?? If not, any suggestions on where I can get some new, or even good used ones? I've called a couple local boat mechanics...but havent heard back from them. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated:) Thanks.
