Hi,
I just got a project boat. It's got a 1972 Chrysler 85HP 2 stroke.
I rebuilt the carbs and I'm in the process of tuning them.
Problem is that one of the carbs has a leak from where the fuel bowl seats against the carb housing.
This is a preexisting issue and not related to my rebuild. The fuel bowl bolt is pretty marked up, likely from the PO trying to stop the leak.
I can't see if anything is different in this one than the others, but there is something going on.
Also, is it possible that if the float is not set properly, fuel will come out the over flow vent? As I write this, I'm starting to think this maybe the issue.
What can I do to stop the leak?
Edit: I checked the float and it was off. I got it to spec and now I need to find a new gasket to try it out. Am I on the right track here with the bowl?
Thanks.
