Hi,
I just got a project boat. It's got a 1972 Chrysler 85HP 2 stroke.
I rebuilt the carbs and I'm in the process of tuning them.
Problem is that one of the carbs has a leak from where the fuel bowl seats against the carb housing.
This is a preexisting issue and not related to my rebuild. The fuel bowl bolt is pretty marked up, likely from the PO trying to stop the leak.
I can't see if anything is different in this one than the others, but there is something going on.
Also, is it possible that if the float is not set properly, fuel will come out the over flow vent? As I write this, I'm starting to think this maybe the issue.
What can I do to stop the leak?

Edit: I checked the float and it was off. I got it to spec and now I need to find a new gasket to try it out. Am I on the right track here with the bowl?

Thanks.

To wrap this up.
All the floats were way out of adjustment and are now all within specs. This was not the cause of the leak.
For the leak, I got some bowl gaskets on the way, but on a suggestion from someone at Pine Lake Parts out of MI, I took off the carb bowl and noticed that the bottom part where the through bolt goes in was bowed inwards, likely from over tightening the bowl to try and stop a leak.
I flattened out the bottom of the bowl and fitted it back together and the leak is gone.
Also a pitch for Pine Lake Parts. Good people there.

Thanks.
