1973 115 hp evinrude on 16 foot fiberglass boat

Can this motor be used to troll at idle speed for long periods of time with out fouling plugs? Would like any suggestions to help keep plugs from fouling.

first I would set gap at .040 on plugs and make sure you are using the hottest plugs made for that motor and it should troll for extended periods with no problems.

I agree with REELSPORT I used to troll all day with 85 HP Johnson. We used a troll plate which allowed you to bring the idle up some which helped keep the plugs clean. I put new plugs in April and they were still good in July but I would change them before the start of fluke fishing in the sound.......

The plugs recommened for this motor are unable to be gapped because they just have a center electrode that sparks to the base.
