My dad bought a boat recently and we borrowed it to try it out and go fishing but when put her in the water i noticed no water coming out of the pee hole.So tonight i pulled the lower unit off thinking the impeller was cooked but it looks new.So i pulled the thermostat thinking that was the problem but when i threw it in a pot of water on the stove it opens fine. Can someone point me in the right direction as to why this thing isn't circulating water???

Stick some weed wacker line up the pee hole. Bugs like to make a nest in them.

Ok I thought your motor had the do it yourself tell tale modification.
If you still have the lower unit off, tape a water hose to the copper water line and pump some water through it.

YOu won't see any water coming out anywhere but the prop on muffs with that thing. When the boat is in the water, it should be blowing out quite a bit of water from the 2 exhaust reliefs in the back of the midsection. I have a '72 50hp, and the modification in the thread below is well worth it to keep an eye on water pressure:

well i taped a hose to the copper tube and i can get water to come out of everywhere but the pee hole i guess i will have to make my own pee hole
