1973, 65hp Evin lower unit gear oil

Hello all, its been a while. I have a 1973, 65hp Evinrude. How much lower unit 90w does it take to fill and how do i know its full. Thanks, Pete

A '73 50hp takes 21.3oz. I do not have the listing for the larger engine but it will be a bit more I would think...

It's a manual shift, right? Otherwise you need special oil.

Remove the lower large flat screw and the upper large flat screw. Drain. Refill via the lower hole until all air is purged and oil comes out of the upper hole. Then reseal the upper hole and then the lower one. Use new seals around the screws when replacing. They're a buck each or so at the dealer.
