newbie here,,,, hello all....Please help, need an electric choke solinoid( and cost) for this outboard, it starts by hand choke, but that wouldnt be as easy at the lake. also, i have only one speed, seems like a fast idle, (gonna try it there, at the lake)no matter where i move the throttle lever. but,,, i can rev by hand on the motor, seems like theres a part missing, not sure. all cables are connected, but the rod connecting the 3 carbs has nothing hookedup to a cable, is this normal..? it revs nice, by hand at the carb linkage. was hopeing to get it to the lake soon, try it out. i bought it last year, (ebay), from a guy who got it from someone else,(no title) and it seems to have been re-built. the bracket is there for an elecric choke, green wire dangling beneath it. is there a part that connects it to the carb..? any help would be greatly appreciated. also, the fuel gauge..? is pegged past full..?

Hello Johnny and welcome to iboats here is a link to a slightly newer 85 where most of the parts will work for your motor and it might shed some light on what you have

Unfortunatly as you can see is the choke solinoid is no longer availible. I have seen them on ebay. Covers both force and chrysler from 65-90 any where from 35 HP to 125HP. Post if you need any more help. Also check www.chryslercrew.com for hard to find chrysler parts.

ok, thanks Euro. gonna stay with a manual choke for now, until i find one.

New Post..... can you tell me how the bilge blower hooks up..? i bought a new one, but no instructions came with it. do i just need one..? i have a 3'' hose comming out both sides of transom(rotten) but i bought a 4'' with 4'' vent hose. same price, figured the 4'' would be better..? should this be mounted close to the bilge pump..? i know it protects against sparks and fumes, and i did smell fumes, last time out on the lake.
i have a 20ft. runabout, with a 18 gal. fuel tank, if this helps
