Well...that was a job! I thought with a borescope I might be able to reinsert the water tube. No such luck. Ended up pulling the power head and doing what I wish the last guy had done in the first place. That is a bit of a circus act! Got everything back together and heard a bolt fall to the ground. After significant head scratching, I deduced it is the screw that holds the throttle linkage to the throttle plate. For my next question...WHERE IN THE WORLD DOES THIS SCREW CONNECT THE LINKAGE TO THE THROTTLE PLATE??? I cannot find anything remotely close to the right orientation that gives me a place to connect the arm. All indications from proper throttle allignment and any pics I can find seem to show it is connected somewhere in the vicinity of the pull start recoil assembly, but I'll be darned if I can find threads where it came from. Anyone have any pics or suggestions? Any help appreciated.

no 2 ways about it.. it bolts under the mag trottle plate
if you turn the handle to SLOW…

the linkage is connected just adjacent to the carb trottle … just under the flywheel (see arrow point in pic)

if you turn the handle to FAST

the linkage can be seen connected dead center under the flywheel

remove the bolt next to the kill switch .............flip the long end under the flywheel-plate assembly to reach the carb side

i guess you will need or.. may need to pull the FW assembly & plate to attach the long end of the link under the throttl e plate (see pic)

if I recall ok you will in fact need to work ...backwards towards the kill switch because you can't really connect the link under the plate and install the plate .......if the 2 other bolts are installed.

so do that end first then…

rebolt the short end next to the kill switch
reinstall the center middle pivot bolt next to the big bolt near the kill switch

best I can do…
