I have a 1973 evinrude 135 in great condition, it has been covered and untouched since 1989!!
It was stuffed away in the back of my grandpas barn. I took the cover off and got it cleaned up, hooked it up to a bench and got some gas, it started right up perfectly!! My question is, does anyone have a clue what this would sale for?? I’ve looked everywhere and this seems to be very rare. I can’t seem to find any for sale, or even expired ads. Any help would be great. I don’t have any use for it at all, but I’m sure someone out there would. The NADA guide makes me think it’s worth around $1,000 does that sound about right?? Thanks in advance!

They sold lots of them but most have been turned into beer cans.----1973 models are unique.----No internal powerhead parts from 72 fit.----No internal parts from 74 fit.----Old motors have different values in certain areas.-----If a local shops will work on older motors they have more value.-----In some areas shops do not work on motors more than 20 years old.----So older motors have lower value.

look at it this way $1000 for a potential boat anchor is pricy.. it will need some work (impeller carbs, ignition check, gear case etc,,,

Being a possible low hour engine is great but 32 years is a lot of time for rusting due to humidity , bugs etc...

try for $1000.. an able bodied outboarder may be very happy with it but it is only worth what folks will pay for it .
