How do I get the bottom half to come all the way down to change the impeller, I took off the lower mount and there is no oval plate their. What do I need to do? Thanks
about 1/2 down the leg, on starboard side, should be a 1"x3" plate with 2 screws, disconnect the shift linkage there. if there is not one, then it is not a 1973.
