I'm in the process of fixing my backfiring on my motor and i have a buddy that has a 35hp carburetor that looks identical w/ mine other than just the horsepower diff. He states the 35hp and the 25hp motors are pretty much identical other than the carb. Will this work and if so will this increase the horsepower?? Thank You guys for ur help..

If your motor is indeed a 1973, then 25hp is all you're going to get out of it. The 25 your buddy is thinking of is the later 33.1 cube model. Yours is the older design 22 cube model, based on the old 18hp. Putting his 35hp carb on your motor will likely make it run poorly and use excessive amounts of fuel...

Good luck but you won't need it, it isn't difficult to fix at all, it will be running by tonight (hopefully!) The only thing that may give you grief is that flywheel, make sure you get grade 8 bolts to go into the threads on it.
