Hi All
please help me identify some oil leakage from the tiny hole (1/8" ?)on the bottom of the cavitation plate. I saw this after I came home from the lake. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance.

Normal.----Make sure no water get in to mix with gear oil on these wonderful motors.----lower units do not like water.

Yes, I love this motor, because it's given me so much trouble, and learned so much from it. And still working on it.
The lower seals were all recently changed. Since you'd mentioned, I will double check the gearcase oil though.
thank you!

In my opinion these motors are easy to trouble shoot / repair.------Some have a different opinion on this 60 LB fishing motor.

Lol....easy if you know your stuff.
I think it's a neat little motor, with a bit of quirkiness.
like any hobby, fixing older outboards entails time, money and frustration, but the reward is satisfying when things work out.
folks like yourself on this forum is a great resource and help.
