what should i be looking for? i read something somewhere about 350 rpm for it to make spark. we tried leaving one plug in with a test light in line but it wouldnt spark at the test light or timin g light, then with all out and a timing light on number one wire we had spark with the timing light.
You have one of two related possible problems.
1. Starter is not cranking it fast enough (it cranks faster with plugs out)
2. Stator charge coils are shot. A big clue is if they are leaking goo.
Okay he put a new CDI stator on it. We were thinking having only one plug in would allow it to spin fast enough but I guess on sealed cylinder is still a significant amount of pressure. We are going to clean all cable ends (battery, starter, and solenoid) and see what happens.
we cleaned and wire brushed every terminal (battery, starter, solenoid) and now it runs great. he says its never idled so smooth or started so easy. Thanks guys.
