Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help me please? I've got a 1973 Fastwin and between the cavitation plate and the gearbox there is a small hole which looks as though it might be from a jig or something, there are a couple of these holes in various places on the gearcase. The problem is that when if I leave the engine on the floor overnight, what looks like gear oil leaks out of the hole, so I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about these little holes. My friends Johnson has the same holes but his don't leak. I've attached a pic to illustrate what I'm talking about, the red line with the circle on the end is about where the hole is although not shown on the schematic so it might be round the other side, the other line without a red circle at the end is pointing at the other of these strange holes.
