My 115 was running just perfectly until my last trip out. I noticed the engine was running kind of sluggish and lacking power after running normally for a while. Before long i noticed I had to give it half throttle just to get enough rpm to move against the slow current. I tried to limp her in, but after a few minutes she just cut out all together. I suspected a fuel problem, but local tech said it sounded like a spark problem, and he was right. no spark in any cylinders. somebody get me pointed in the right direction. I dont' know didly about OB repair.

Thanks brian. I read and printed that info. Part if the article jogged my memory. I had a problem moving the throttle/shifter at the start of my trip that day. Coincidence???????

I checked for spark at each plug using a spark tester. Just to make sure I used the tried and true hold the plug close to the head and crank it to look for spark method as well. Nothing on any cylinders. The battery is fully charged and cranking motor nice and fast.

Re: 1973 johnson 115 no spark

I checked the battery and battery cables/connectors today and all were ok. She had plenty of cranking rpms. I tried removing the black/yellow wire as reccomended in the sight Brian gave to me. still no spark. Does anyone have a test that will test the power pack itself so I can cut to what is probly the source of the problem?
