Hi, having a problem with my johnson 25 seahorse starting when I picked up the boat he said its a race motor and it only likes to start on full throttle, witch it does start on the first pull full throttle.

I looked in the carb on the engine and seen the float needle was missing and I had an extra one so I put it in and now the motor won't start at all, I am wondering why it is doing this anyone help?

How much gas leaked. The needle valve (which I think you ae calling the float valve) stops gas from entering the float bwl until the float drops low enough to open the valve, then it closes the fuel inlet when it's full, then the process starts all over again.
With the float and needle and seat valve in place, turn the carb upper half upside down. The float should be level with the mating surface of the float bowl. When you turn the upper half of the carb right side up, the float should be angled down.
Quite possible that you have no float drop with the needle valve installed and it's not letting any fuel into the carb.

Hope I explained myself good enough. Get a carb kit at your local NAPA, dealer or here on iboats.Read and follow the enclosed instructions.
Hope I was able to help.

If that engine did'nt have a float needle, there should have been gas everywhere. I really don't think you are going to start, and run that engine at any setting. Show us the the gearcase, and take the hood off to show us that race engine
