Hi mockersonman
There should be an over heat light wired to the helm.

Very sorry about the language. So what is the correct terminology?

Mockersonman.

To answer your question. There are two holes just below the upper section of your engine on the rear.

These are the exhaust relief ports. At idle, your engine should "spit" water out of these. At planing speeds, it sould be a steady stream.

If the water pump (impeller) in your engine is more than two years old-replace it!

Cheap insurance, let's see,water pump-$50.00., powerhead-$$$$$$$$?
