So, how hard is it to change the oil seal and o-ring on the prop shaft on a 1973 50 HP merc? Assuming I can get the bearing retaining nut off, is it just a matter of pulling the bearing carrier out, replacing the seals, and reinstalling? Is there any kind of adjustment needed? Any crazy parts going to fall out all over the garage floor? Everything is tight and smooth, it just had water in it when I drained it this weekend and oil leaking out the hub.
