I GOT A 11O THAT IS NOT GETTING FUEL IN THE TOP CYLINDER FOR SOME REASON. I HAVE TESTED COMPRESSION AND SPARK. THE MOTOR DOES RUN ON 1 CYLINDER. THE MAN I GOT IT FROM HAD TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TALKED HIM INTO BUYING A NEW FOUR STROKER, SO NOW IT IS MY DELEMA. THE TECH TOLD HIM THAT THE REEDS WERE BAD AND THERE IS NO FUEL BEING SUCKED INTO THE CYLINDER. IS THIS SOMETHING I COULD DO WITH A MANUAL? AND TO WHAT DEGREE OF DIFFICULY IS IT? LASTLY WHAT WOULD BE A FAIR PRICE TO PAY TO HAVE IT DONE AT THE REPAIR SHOP? SER# 373####

Welcome to iboats.

You probably won't find a shop willing to overhaul it. That's what it needs. You need to take the powerhead apart to get at the reeds, so you overhaul it as long as it's apart. But a lot of shops won't take on a project like that on a motor that's too old to be worth the price of the overhaul. If you're so inclined, get a manual and do it yourself. Parts shouldn't cost too much if there isn't too much wrong with it.
