Hello i am in the process of running new wires on this motor can i bypass this grounding block that the stator wires go to and run them directly to the rectifier, instead of having two extension wires. wanted to put pics in post but having trouble downloading pics it tells me files are too large?

Yes, you can bypass the connector block (please note, that is not a grounding block, it is simply a connector block to be able to isolate the stator and the rectifier and its made of plastic so it doesn't conduct to ground)! That plastic terminal is still available, its cheap and aids in correct disassembly per Mercs methods of removing parts in groups.

Thanks monk-monk did not know the technical name for it its not broke or anything just adds wires not needed under the hood i have to replace the whole electrical system on it all wires were broken and tearing apart except the stator, all i have left to do is put the fuel pump back on and the distributor back on to see if it runs!
