Hello all, I've been sorting out some issues here with my 1st boat and have come across a sticking point I believe. I had no spark, determined had resistance to the kill wire to ground. Ran a new one from switch to power pack. That got me a spark in only one cylinder. Checked ohms at stator and timer base. Stator is within spec, timer base is a little low. Disconnected all wires at power pack and did a diode test, it failed so I put in a new power pack. While wires were disconnected I checked timer base wires to ground and found I have high resistance 50M on Blk/White #1. I don't wont to apply power until I'm certain I won't damage my new power pack. Is it time for me to pull my fly wheel and sort out the high resistance on sensor wire #1. If so, any pointers on how to accomplish this task? Thanks for any help

So you have a short to ground is that what you are saying? As there should be any continuity to ground.
The wires often fray just under the flywheel where they rotate against the crankcase when the timing base moves.
You need a three point remover to remove the flywheel- harmonic balancer typre puller- dont use the ones for pulling gears- you want the puller type where you screw ht bolts into those holes on the top of the flywhee
