1974 90211R sterndrive engine

Is the 1978 engine interchangable with this unit. 1974 is a 307 chevy engine and 1978 is a 305. But will they interchange. My 1974 needs a rebuild and I have found a 1978 that is already to go but dont know if it will bolt up the model of the engine in my boat is 90211R the 1978 is 90255D.
Will they interchange?

easy peasy - straight swap - both engines are identical externally
