After looking at all the engine specs in the shop manual.....is it only the carb size which would complete a 9.9 to 15 hp conversion.?? Bore, stroke etc. all appear to be the same for both models. I bought what I thought ws a 15hp motor but after checking serial /model# found out it was a 9.9. Someone had replaced the cowl with a 15hp one.....probably needed the 9.9 for a restricted lake. Not a big deal cause the price was right and the engine runs great. Just wondering about the conversion to 15hp and if anyone has done it. Thanks.....Peter

this has been beat to death here. conversions are usually not worth the hassle, cost or trying to find parts. it's usually better to sell what you have, and by what you want.

You may also need a different prop! Hopefully the gears are the same.

Check all the relevant part numbers for the two versions on the BRP website to see where the differences lie.

Bgpass.1 has encountered no problems upgrading a 20 to a 30 but I concluded it was not a practical proposition to upgrade a 6 to an 8.
