Okay guys,

I admit I need help here... I have a 1974 Lund VFR-15 that needs a lot of love. We're talking the last two years in the woods infested with squirrels and chipmunks kind of love! Seriously, there were nests under the floor.

Good news - I have her torn down to the hull at this point. Floor and foam are outta there. Other good news...the 70 horse Merc is running great.

Now what do I do? I know I need to start with a new floor. What do I use? I have seen resin covered ply wood in the restore forums. What about other choices like synthetic particle board or something like green treated plywood?

I took out all of the foam that was in there (chewed into millions of tiny pieces). What do I replace it with? Do I need to replace it all? Is there some kind of spray foam?

What about paint? Can I just get the whole hull (inside and out) sandblasted and then start over?

I would guess there is a magic thread out there where someone has done this exact project. Just point me to it if you know of it. I will gladly post progress pics as I go to help the next NEWBIE who has a similar boat.

FYI - Pic of the boat. Not mine but same model, year and paint.Boat.JPG

Well let me start by mentioning this ........... DO NOT use any pressure treated plywood at all.

The Lund is in the same family as the Starcraft restorations found here. You want info on those it is VERY simple ;)

Go here and open Item 9 and your eyes will be opened!!! http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=288451
