1975 115 evinrude lower unit removal

how do you disconnect shift rod on a 1975 115 evinrude?<br />i have a book that shows a clip on linkage for v4 models but i cant see it<br />all i see is a stud and nut on linkage by cables<br />and what looks like a roll pin under carbs<br /><br />any ideas?

well i guess it dont matter how the lower unit comes off <br />i just broke the control box trying to get it into reverse<br />thanks for the help anyway
