1975 351w OMC shifting Question/ Help......

i have a 1975 351w OMC.. the other day i was out I put it into reverse and it stayed in reverse. i tried putting it into N nothing still going reverse.. all the way to drive and still in reverse.. shut off engine with key.... tried starting it again nothing... ?????

I think the best way to help is to just link you to the schematic and you can get familiar with the circuit from the key all the way down to the reverse coil in the lower unit (blue is reverse)
sounds like it's getting power all the time
the switches in those electric shifters are a weak point in the system

another possibility is that your lower unit has piled up inside and is physically jammed in R, but start with electrical

ok found out the problem in the electric shift switch... is there a way to hook this up to a switch?? my understanding is that there is 3 wires postive, foward, and rev... and 2 white wires are safety wires...
