Just purchased the motor for less than the cost of an ignition box for my 71' 85hp.Has sat for 5 yrs.I have the w/pump kit and carb kit and it will be going on a 14'2" fiberglass flats boat side console.Ive heard this is a small bore motor and would like forums feedback from previous owners and wrenches on performance and dependability of this 70.I'm also not familure with the term "Looper"

Yes, What DHadley said.

That 3 cylinder looper (loop scavenged engine) is one of the greatest outboards ever. Stayed in production as a 55, 60, 70 and 75 for over 20 years.
