Lookin at a 75 HP Chrysler the guy got from a friend last year I believe. The info I have on the motor is its on a pedestal, carbs cleaned fuel line changed I believe original water pump. It starts good and idles good with water out the port for cooling. He hasn't had it in the water yet. He bought a newer boat with a different motor because the boat that this was on has damage. He remembers a bill for 2000 bucks of work that has been done a few years ago but not sure what was done. Compression reads 150 +/-2psi in all cylinders. He's asking 1200 for it as is. My question is what would the experts out there pay and is it even worth it. I had an 84 Johnson 70 on mine before and could hit 34 with 2 adults. Thanks

Not a expert by any means
more a dumb arse
but thats a lot of money for a 43 yr motor that has a lot of history and not much of a future,

you won't get that sort of money for it if you decided to sell it down the track,

compression is good but once you start using it other components are likely to break down,

like the ignition system,

chryslers really don't have much $ value anymore and spare parts can be difficult to find,

$500 on a good day, if l was drunk...

paid $200 for a '79 70hp back in feb,
had to replace the cd unit 3 weeks later

Free might be too much.----Original water pump in a 43 year old motor is a ---" big red flag "---- in my opinion.
