I am in the process of repairing a shift problem I have in the lower unit on my 1975, 75hp Evinrude Hustler. Is there a rebuild or seal kit available for the gear unit? Does anyone know a part number or place to buy it? I'd hate to have to buy these seals one at a time.

There's only three ... drive shaft, shift shaft, and prop shaft (2). What's the big deal?

One more; the O rings for the bearing carrier.

Well there is more than 3, the engine is 35 years old and I'd like to replace the water pump seal, boots everything since it's apart. I just thought maybe there is a complete kit.

All the water pump soft parts come in the complete water pump kit, which is the only way to go if your labor is worth anything.

The LU may have one O ring for the shift rod I missed above, but that's it. The water pump and exhaust housing are not considered part of the LU, and the exhaust housing seal is almost always reusable, unless it's beat up during removal.

Generally BRP and OMC before them didn't have complete seal packages as single PN's, only the third party stuff (which I don't use) which often contains stuff from multiple models, which adds some confusion to what's needed.

What about the grommets, can they be reused? Their in good shape just need cleaned up.

If you're talking about the water pump grommet, I usually replace BC it's always included in the complete pump kit.
