Long story short, We salvaged an old 75 25 hp Chrysler and replaced literally everything on it.

Only thing we have problems with now is key wont shut motor off. I know theres suppose to be a ground to kill coil packs but im not sure where they go. ive spent hours browsing diagrams.

Re: 1975 Chrysler 25 hp. 254HA Wiring Question

Do you have any Pics and history? Such as?

1. The mag sys with the flywheel off.
2. The ignition switch showing wire?s going to markings on the switch.
3. The wiring chart showing wiring colors goes to what component.
4. Do you know if that is the orig switch and if it ever kill the motor?
5. Are the 2 brown wires coming from the mag that I think will kill the fire?
6. Do you have a wiring diagram of your sys as the one attached?
7. I feel a kill switch can be easily added if the switch w/n kill it.

Battery ign. the blue wire shut off the engine.
The battery feed the ign.system and blue is hot for ign.
Blue should be connected on I - terminal at keyswitch

Coils under flywheel.......magneto ign.
Should be two black or brown wires that are connected to the points.
To kill the engine connect these two wires to each other.
At keyswitch white and blue should be at the two M- terminals (if you have factory harness).

Wickware:
The pics 1-3 in your post are from your engine that has a magneto system. It has the ign.coils under the flywheel and in pic 3 you see the black killingwires (look as wires for soundspeakers) that are connected to the points.

The electricaldiagram shows the battery ign.system.

Magneto system is selfenergnizing due to magnets in the flywheel.
Battery system need a battery to feed the ign.coils. It has magnets in the flywheel but they are for charging the battery through the rectifirer.

Thanks Nordin! I wanted to be sure that these were ?examples vs the 25hp?. Even the electrical diagram is not my 35hp and I see you know that. I?m learning a lot about these Old Chryslers. Almost 30 yrs too lat. LOL
