I've got the old girl running now,she starts up right away
Question is,as I,m new to the larger outboards, when it is
running in neutral she seems to be running a bit fast.
Is the adjustment to lower her idle speed on the motor
or is it on the throttle cable.
Any help would be appreciated

Re: 1975 Evinrude 115 idle speed

Should idle at around 650 RPM, in gear, unrestrained, on the water and warmed up.

It will probably idle at around 1000 on muffs (no load).

Check that the throttle plates are synchronized and closed when the throttle arm is in neutral and the warmup lever is down.

Edit: It's best to follow the tune-up steps in section 2 of your factory service manual, including synchronizing the carburetors, setting the throttle cam roller, and adjusting the throttle cable, before making the final adjustment to the throttle stop screw on the water.

The throttle plates in the carburetors need to be closed when the control is in neutral and the warmup lever down. You need to make adjustments if they are not. You make these adjustments first.

When the control arm is fully forward, the throttle plates should be perfectly horizontal or wide open (WOT).

Thank you for clarifying that for me.
It's crystal clear now.
