Just a quick question about disassembly to remove the motor so I can paint the boat. Once I remove steering arm from cable, loosen nut on the cable and just pull the cable through mounting frame.
If someone could verify this for me before I remove something I shoulnd't
It would be appreciated.

Yes. That is the way to do it....... remove the nut....slide it away ..... remove the link arm and you "might" be able to pull it out but you might have to unbolt the engine and move the engine away........ depends on how much slack you have in the cable.

That's what I thought
Thank you, this forum is better than a manual
Much more info and personal experience

When you do get it apart be sure to clean that steering tube on the outboard........ they tend to build up rust and garbage...... clean it like a gun barrel ;)
