Hi,

I have an 6 Hp Evinrude 65B66R model built in Belgium 1975.
My problem is that the fuel pump wont suck, probably because of too low pressure variation the crankcase. This means that it is almost impossible to start the motor and I have to raise the fuel tank over the motor to get fuel running into the carburator. I think the problem could be caused by a bad upper crankcase seal, the top seal, or a bad lower crankcase seal, the bottom seal.
Do you know which part of the crankcase that is making the fuel pump pumping? If it is the upper part, the problem could be caused by a bad top seal, but if it is the lower part it might be the bottom seal which is leaking.
I think the motor could be seen as a two cylinder motor with two separate crankcase volumes and one should have a pressure when the other has vacuum because of the two pistons going up or down simultaneously. I hope I have got it all right. I have also tested the fuel pump and that is okey.

Does anyone of you have any idea of where I can find spare parts and tune-up kits for this motor? When I go to BRP Parts Catalog or to MarinEngin.com I only find models 6504R, 6505R and 6R75R, 6RL75R produced 1975. Is any of those the same as 65B66R or where do I go for help?

Regards
